expression.Thisallowsyoutoseethecontextofeach
expression.
HisGrepshipcanreadandwriteUnicodefiles,bothbig-
andlittle-endian.
HisGrepshipcandoglobalfindandreplace(text
swapping).Forinstanceyoucanchangealloccurrencesof
"Smith"inallyourtextfilesto"Jones".Youmay
optionallyconfirm/rejecteachchange,andasafinal
safeguardyoucanalsorollbackthechangesafteryou
havemadethem.ThisoperationisUNIX-smart,i.e.it
willmaintainUNIXline-endings.
YoumayassociateHisGrepshipwithcertaintexteditors
(seetheAssociatedTextEditorssection).LaterwhenHis
Grepshiphasfinishedasearchanddisplayedallfound
searchexpressionsintheoutputlistbox,youmay
double-clickanyline.HisGrepshipwillthenactivate
theselectededitortoopenthefilecontainingthe
expressionyouclicked,andtakeyourighttothecorrect
line.Thecursorwillbesittingontheexpression,ready
forediting.Ifyoudon'thaveanyoftheeditorsonthe
list,youmayusethebuilt-ineditorthatcomesstandard
withHisGrepship.Thisachievesthesameeffect.
HisGrepshipincorporatesthepowerfulRegex++regular
expressionlibrary,allowingwildcard/regularexpression
